Celeb diets: The good vs. the "Give me a break!"

The way a celebrity’s designer duds hang from their svelte figures can make us want to copy-cat their eating plan . Some of their weight loss plans make sense. And some of them make us think, “Yeah, you know what? I’ll just be chubby instead.” Here are a few celeb diets that either make sense or defy all logic…

Jennifer HudsonJennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson, Grammy and Oscar winner, as well as Weight Watchers spokesperson, has come a long way since her American Idol auditioning days. Back then, Jennifer was a bit on the chunky side, but has since dropped 80 pounds using the Weight Watchers plan. Through portion control and a food tracking system Jennifer has kept the weight off.

As a Weight Watchers spokesperson, Jennifer has some advice.

“Permanent weight loss doesn’t come with an on and off switch. It is not something you do for a little while and think it is going to change your body. My schedule is as jammed packed as one can get and I still found the time to make the program work. You have to want weight loss success so badly that no mountain, river or ocean could keep you from reaching your goals. If you have that drive, passion, and commitment, there is no way you won’t get there.”

Gwyneth PaltrowGwyneth Paltrow

Through her website goop.com, Gwyneth declared she was ringing in the new year minus the cleansing and dieting! Maybe this famously slim beauty has had it with macrobiotic diets that exclude fatty meats, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, sugar and poultry. What's left? That is no way to live. We’ll take the extra 10 pounds, thank you very much.

Maybe Gwyneth has had it with Clean Cleanse, which she also promoted on goop.com. The $425 cleanse allows for a shake in the morning, a regimen of supplements, a light lunch and another shake. You know, you can buy a lot of prune juice for $425. Since Stella McCartney hasn’t called us lately and asked us to model any of her designs on the red carpet, we’ll probably skip right past this nonsense.

Janet JacksonJanet Jackson

Janet Jackson is one celebrity who has given Oprah a run for her money when it comes to the fat-thin-before-after-yo-yo weight loss and gain. In spring of 2012, Janet resurfaced looking incredible after trying the NutriSystem diet, which involves prepackaged food and eating behavior modification.

Since Janet is a self-professed emotional eater, perhaps the behavior modification aspect of this plan will help her to keep the weight off.

She told People magazine, "I don't know how much weight I've lost, only because I stay away from the scale." Now that’s a weight management idea we can get behind!

Adriana LimaAdriana Lima

Think you want to look like a Victoria’s Secret model? The next time you look at a Victoria’s Secret catalog and become consumed with self-loathing, remember this — looking that good comes at a price. VS model Adriana Lima told the Telegraph that she drinks protein shakes and a gallon of water a day, and works out two hours a day. Nine days before a Victoria’s Secret show, she avoids solids all together, and on the day before, she ditches the gallon of water. Hmmm. No thanks. We’ll just buy Victoria’s Secret lingerie, eat our food , and turn the lights down low.
