The band's breakup was not a huge surprise to anyone. But now that it is final, their fans want just one more chance to say goodbye. But will the band comply?

My Chemical Romance

In their 12 years in existence, My Chemical Romance made their mark in the world of emo music, a genre named after emotion. So it’s no surprise their fans are heartbroken, and not afraid to show it, after the band announced their breakup over the weekend.

A fan started a petition on Change.org asking My Chemical Romance to embark on a farewell tour before finally calling it quits.

“They ended so abruptly without saying goodbye to their fans properly, and the MCRmy is upset,” the petition said. “They need to do it correctly if they're going to do it at all.”

While dramatic, many of the petition’s signees are showing exactly how the band affected their lives.

“mcr saved my life,” wrote Naomi Buckley on the petition. “if it wasnt for them i wouldn't be here i just need them one more time.. : and very weird statement later in the weekend.

“I woke up this morning still dreaming, or not fully aware of myself just yet,” the statement started. “The sun poked through the windows, touching my face, and then a deep sadness overcame me, immediately, bringing me to life and realization- My Chemical Romance had ended.”

He goes on to talk about his day and how this will affect his life, what life was like in the band, and what the band meant to the world. But most important, he talks about what the intention of the band was, and that was for the fans.

“Love. This was always my intent.”

The band has not yet commented on the petition, but there is no sign the band would want to embark on another tour, since they have already said their goodbyes.
