Alyssa Milano is returning to television. The actress is heading to ABC with the new series, Mistresses. It's the American adaptation of the popular British drama of the same name.
Today, the actress participated in the Mistresses panel during the 2013 Winter TCA Press Tour. Milano and executive producers Bob Sertner and Rina Mimoun spoke about what sets their show apart.
"Tonally the show is different from the BBC version," Milano revealed. "There's a lightness and a fun to what we try to do that's different."
According to Mimoun, their show really picks up the pace. "We took a lot of what they had and front-loaded our show with that," she said. "We had to run in a whole other direction because we had to make a lot more episodes."
Like most shows that are adapted from overseas, they have to switch it up. If they don't change the format or storyline, it can ruin the experience for viewers. Sertner explained, "We always said from the very beginning a show like this wouldn't be very fun to watch if you could go online and find out where it was heading."

Mistresses centers on four women who are each involved in a "romantic crisis." According to Zap2it, there will be lots of "network-TV-friendly sex," but don't expect Milano to strip down just yet.
Alyssa Milano has her baby boy... finally!>>
"For my scenes mostly the guys are naked," Milano said. "I had just given birth when we shot the pilot. I was still breastfeeding, in between takes every two hours I would go into my dressing room and pump."
