One of the hallmark traditions of the Grammy Awards are the amazing musical performances — usually by critically acclaimed and commercially successful artists of the year. In fact, we mostly watch the Grammys to see which musician is going to lay down the best performance of the show. Take a look at some of the best performances.
2010 Grammy Awards: Beyoncé

Beyoncé just killed it at the Super Bowl, but she also rocked it back in 2010 at the Grammys with her exciting and powerful performance of "If I Were a Boy." Watching this video still gives us chills. Beyoncé is a true entertainer and had us glued to the screen, totally mesmerized by her skills. She even does red-hot cover of Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know."
2011 Grammy Awards: Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga performed at the 2011 Grammy Awards and she arrived on stage in giant egg. While Gaga's performance is of course ridiculous, we actually love the powerful choreography and her perfect vocals.
2010 Grammy Awards: Pink

Pink sounded gorgeous live and her beautiful performance of "Glitter in the Air" left the audience cheering. Pink sang as she twirled in the air with an insane dance routine. The performance was visually stunning and we can't believe she was able to sing through it. The singer also showed off her killer body in an almost nude costume.
2012 Grammy Awards: Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars brought lots of energy to his 2012 Grammy Awards performance. A throwback to vintage sounds, Mars' costume and his stage presence lit up the show. One thing we especially enjoyed about his Grammy performance was that he seemed to have a ton of fun throughout the set.
2001 Grammy Awards: Eminem and Elton John
Elton John and Eminem perform at the 2001 Grammys
Who can forget this gasp-worthy performance of aggressive rapper Eminem and singer-songwriter Elton John performing together at the 2001 Grammys? Eminem performed his powerful hit "Stan" and Elton John provided the chorus originally sang by Dido. Note: This performance contains lyrics that are NSFW.
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be no doubt be show-stopper — with Justin Timberlake, Fun., and Maroon 5 to perform at the Staples Center on Grammys night.
