SNL shows what's wrong with activism these days — and it's scarily accurate

This week's SNL finale with host and alumnus Fred Armisen was a breath of fresh air in an otherwise disappointing season. The episode addressed everything from race to politics to jokes the cast was afraid to say earlier and featured a Lonely Island digital short.

More: SNL roasts Donald Trump and supporters in fake campaign ad

One of the best skits of the season hilariously critiqued the kind of pseudo-activism done by some groups of young, privileged people. The skit featured a group of high school students who put on a play called "America the Beautiful?" consisting of 82 acts. Each act was a short skit with a very blunt message like "Being queer is good" or "We've actually all been Asian this whole time." At the end, it was revealed that this performance allowed the high school theatre troupe to get into NYU.

More: The real reasons why Michael Che's feminism joke pissed people off

Within 10 seconds of the show starting, Larry David got up and left, realizing that the show was ridiculous and would be frustrating to watch. His response was one I have often wished I could have with seemingly radical but actually elitist groups of people I met in high school and college.

SNL 1
Image: Giphy

The first part of the skit rang especially true when the students walked through an imaginary checkout line and named items like iPhones and iPads but were unable to recognize flowers. The message was "How about less TECHnology and more NATUREnology?!" The hilariously empty assertion had no acknowledgment of how and why people benefit from using technology but rather needlessly cling to nostalgia for an earlier time. I have seen arguments like this one against technology too many times to count, from the very rich, upscale bookstore in my neighborhood that is above having Wi-Fi to the clubs on my campus that urge "disconnecting," as if the majority of the world that needs cell phones is all idiotic.

More: SNL's new hire marks another sad day for diversity on late night

I also liked the part where the actors attempted to challenge visual stereotypes. A character's parent asks her who her date is, saying they are excited to meet him, and she tells her parent that, actually, she is a lesbian so her date is a woman. A chorus in the background says, "That's good!" Then, the date assumes that the parent is a man and the parent informs her that she is actually a transgender woman, to which the chorus again says, "That's good!" Finally, everyone in the skit says they have "actually been Asian this whole time!" Everyone says, "That's good!" after this "revelation."

SNL 2
Image: Giphy

While talking about homophobia, transphobia and racism is incredibly important, of course, this skit shows how many activists attempt to address these issues without doing them justice, merely saying the words queer or race without acknowledging that with these identities come immense struggle. There is not always a chorus to say "That's good!" when one comes out, and it is certainly not possible to claim one has secretly been Asian as a way of winning some kind of oppression Olympics. Essentially, when activism is done by very privileged people who are unable or unwilling to acknowledge that perhaps their perspectives are limited, the work often becomes empty, as caricatured in this skit.

SNL 3
Image: Giphy

Ultimately, when the mother of one of the performers lamented that the after-party was at her house because last year everyone stayed up until 6 a.m. complimenting one another, she perfectly summed up how self-indulgent this particular breed of activism is.

Rory Feek's post about Joey's death really tugs at the heartstrings

Rory Feek has been on an emotional roller coaster over the last few months, and when his wife, Joey, died in March after her battle with cervical cancer, he was left heartbroken. Luckily, a decision Rory made in the past has managed to bring him some solace.

More: Rory Feek remembers his wife on his first Mother's Day without Joey

Taking to his blog, This Life I Live, on Saturday, Rory penned an emotional post about how he captured their lives on film — and the dramatic effect it has had on him in the present day.

"I filmed our lives for two-and-a-half years. I don't know why, I just did," Rory began the post. "Like writing this blog, something told me that I needed to capture that time of our lives on film. To have it forever. To be able to remember it and share it with others. I had no idea how important it would be."

After Joey died and Rory returned home from Indiana, he thought he would be able to "remember the good times" and all the beautiful memories that he and his wife had made together over the last 13 years. But he couldn't.

"All I could remember of her was the end," he wrote. "The five months of dying. The Joey that had no hair and couldn’t get out of bed. The mother that could barely hold the baby she loved. And the life we held together by a song, in the brick house by the Gaithers' pond."

More: Joey Feek is still very much alive, both to her fans and her husband, Rory

His whole world had changed, and try as he might, Rory was unable to remember Joey when she was healthy.

"I could not remember her alive. All of the pictures on our mantle and music videos online seemed like something from a photo album. Ours, I guess. But long ago," he confessed.

But all that changed when Rory recently uncovered a hard drive "that held 6 terabytes of our lives – hundreds of hours of footage," and once he started to watch it, for him, Joey "came to life."

"In full color on the big screen of my iMac, Joey became alive again... filled with love and joy and hope and passion for me and for the life God had given us," Rory wrote. "And I remembered how incredibly beautiful she was. How kind and how special of a person she was. For days, I watched and I watched. And pretty soon... I could not remember the Joey that was on hospice in Indiana. The one that was frail and dying. 'That' Joey had been replaced by one that is alive and well..."

More: ACM's touching tribute to Joey Feek didn't impress fans very much

Rory has made the decision to document much of his life and share his thoughts on life without Joey, something which has served as a healing process not only for himself but for his fans, too.

The post has over 900 comments on it already, and fans are grateful to Rory for sharing it.

"Rory, just wanted you to know that I read your story that you share with world. You are a blessing to me. As you are with others," Tammy Davidson commented. "I'm not good with words I wasn't blessed like others are. You and the girls are still in my prays. God bless!"

"As always I am thankful that you share some of these special moments with your family of fans. Somehow, it helps us all I think," Noreen Maine wrote. "There is a lot to think about in these special moments — about life, about circumstances, about our own loved ones and those we love who are gone now. About Joey and what a special soul she was and still is. God Bless You Rory."

Haters, please, Amber Riley doesn't GAF if you call her fat

Glee's Amber Riley shared a message very close to her heart on Saturday, and it's something we all need to hear.

More: Amber Riley dazzles on the dance floor

Taking to Instagram, Riley posted a video of herself in which she relayed an important message for all her haters. Looking into the camera, Riley said that there were "some things that her sober mind keeps her from sharing," but that was all about to change.

"Why does me being fat offend so many people? Is it because I'm confident and I'm fly and I'm sexy?" Riley asked. "Do my thighs offend? Does my stomach offend? Does my big juicy ass offend? Why? Why?!"

More: Giuliana Rancic body-shamed yet again, but over a photo with her son (PHOTO)

Riley then tells critics that they need to let her live instead of discriminating against her because she loves her body just the way it is. But perhaps the most powerful line of her entire video is toward the end, when she states, "When you come on here and call me fat, it's not an insult, dummy." And she delivered her message with the perfect amount of sass and confidence.

Riley captioned the post, "I got some things I need to get off my chest, and my thighs, and my stomach" — and fans have applauded her honesty.

"Wish I was as confident as you. Btw, don't listen to them, you're beautiful inside and out," bechloe_saga commented.

"PREACH!!! I love you," wrote metseyyy.

"this made me so confident. this made my day," jacquelynskye wrote.

And diamondessencex3 agreed, writing, "Yes Bae!!! and believe me we love you so continue to ignore these idiots, you are absolutely gorgeous and you sing like an angel."

Let's hope that Riley's empowering words not only make her haters back off but also serve as inspiration to others and a reminder that it's OK to love your body, no matter what size, shape or color it is.

Don’t feel too sorry for her, though. Not only is she taking full advantage of the time she gets to spend in Las Vegas with her boyfriend, but she managed to get some family time, too. Her brother joined her and Shelton at Top Golf to play around before the big performance. The team also enjoyed some cocktails and appetizers. It really looks like she’s having the most fun weekend in the desert and wants to bring her fans along.

Food Network Stars' Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay need to spice things up

Food Network Star’s debut began with all the contestants shooting 30-second cold opens that were then screened in a movie theater as all the judges watched and ate dishes everyone prepared. With so many contestants, it was necessary to quickly move through each person to fit everyone into the one-hour time slot.

More: 'Food Network Star': Where are they now?

Still, with no notable dramatic turns, save for a small kitchen fire, it was difficult to differentiate between contestants, and the whole episode largely blurred together. I was left wishing that the judges had done more to provide viewers with a tension that kept us engaged.

ANTM GIF
Image: Giphy

As I was watching, I missed the narratives woven around each contestant in America's Next Top Model, the way Tyra Banks seems to truly invest in each person on the show. And, I remembered Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul's dynamic on American Idol, where their disagreement about performances was intense and exciting, even when the contestants themselves were not.

More: Anthony Bourdain vs. Paula Deen: Cooking insults continue

Instead, Flay and De Laurentiis consistently agreed with one another, making lukewarm compliments about most of the dishes and cold opens, vague comments about presentation, and one repeated critique that a certain chicken dish tasted like carbon (which, by the way, is not a taste I can readily identify — am I alone in this?).

The elimination process, too, was brief and completely drama-free. The contestants were narrowed down to the three who performed the worst that week, and the person eliminated was quickly announced. We got no insight into why and how the judges made their decisions, where they disagreed, and what they wanted from the low-performing contestants in the future.

The judges' lackluster performance was particularly ironic considering the fact that the entire theme of the episode was teaching the contestants how to be charming on camera. If even De Laurentiis and Flay cannot provide compelling performances on the show, how can we expect the contestants to capture our attention for the rest of the season?

More: Guy Fieri made nachos in a trash can, and they look surprisingly good

Ultimately, I hope that, as the season continues, we are given reasons to invest in the contestants, and that the show becomes more of a narrative, one defined by tension, obstacles, changes, and disagreements between stars and between judges. I expect more from De Laurentiis and Flay as leaders of the show.

Madonna's tribute to Prince didn't win over everyone — especially not BET

Madonna took to the stage at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night to pay tribute to Prince in a very big way, as she belted out his hit "Nothing Compares 2 U" before bringing Stevie Wonder onstage to perform "Purple Rain."

More: We still can't believe Gene Simmons called Prince's death 'pathetic'

Madonna had personal and professional ties to Prince, who died on April 21, because not only did they briefly date in 1985 but they also collaborated on her track "Love Song." But many people were against Madonna being the only artist to pay tribute to Prince because a Change.org petition entitled "Stop Madonna from being the only artist tributing Prince during the Billboard Awards" amassed almost 9,000 signatures (Wonder was a surprise performer).

We'd like to say most people got onboard with Madonna and Stevie Wonder's tribute, but that doesn't appear to be true, most certainly not the folks behind the BET awards' Twitter handle.

Yeah, so Madonna's tribute was definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but Billboard Music Awards executive producer, Mark Bracco, previously shared his thoughts on the organization's decision with The Associated Press, via Entertainment Tonight Canada.

"Listen, I think everybody is entitled to their opinion and everyone can have their own opinion, but I will say that we are honored and could not be more excited for Madonna to be on the show and to pay tribute to someone that was her friend and her peer and her colleague," Bracco said. "I think it's going to be fantastic."

Bracco continued, "It's going to be very, very intimate and very respectful, and I think it's something that is really going to pay tribute to Prince as the incredible, groundbreaking artist that he was and the influence that he had on music."

Forget Scientology: The Path is all about characters in the finale

$

Hulu's breakout hit The Path has been rumored to be based on Scientology since it premiered, but with each episode that airs, it becomes clear that the show is less about a real-life movement and more about the characters driving the fictitious Meyerism.

More: Hulu's series The Path risks angering some Hollywood heavyweights (VIDEO)

SheKnows chatted with Sarah Jones, who plays Alison Kemp, a woman who has broken free of Meyerism and is searching for the truth behind her husband's death.

"I think Scientology is on everyone's radar," Jones said of the comparisons between Meyerism and Scientology. "Everyone's aware of it, but no one knows too much about it unless they're a part of it. You know? But it's not written about Scientology. Initially, when I read [the script], there were certain aspects of it, with the ladder and the rungs and the levels, where I could see where people would see that. But I think you could compare that to even certain established religions out there. I understand where people would jump to that comparison, but it's not some hidden message about Scientology at all."

If anything, Jones said, the show — especially leading into the Season 1 finale this Wednesday — has become more about the characters and less about the movement itself.

Jones echoed those thoughts while talking about women's roles in the series.

"I love that there's an even playing field across the board," she said of the men and women in The Path. "Every single character has some depth to it. Women in this show are not just for their male counterparts' storylines. They all have their own situations and storylines and art, and I really appreciate that as both a woman and someone working on the show."

More: Aaron Paul just pulled off the meanest Breaking Bad prank ever (VIDEO)

She added, "[Showrunner] Jessica [Goldberg] has said to me and in interviews that a lot of creating this cult came out of, well, what would I want it to be if I could picture this, sort of, perfect society? I think it probably stemmed from that. And I think it brings a humanity to this cult. In order for people to not just dismiss this movement, you want to have conflict. You want to question, is it that bad of a movement, or is it? What does this movement stand for, at the heart of it? And I think, if you start with simply the cliché characteristics of what we've all come to see as a cult movement, then I don't think you're able to get the story and invest in the characters as much or as deeply as you could. So I think a lot of this comes from trying to find the humanity in this cult first and the positive attributes of the cult so that people can make decisions about who these people are in the cult based on the characters as opposed to their involvement in this movement."

As we saw in the last episode, Alison got her hands on her husband's file and finally knows the truth about his death. With that information, she enters the Meyerist compound with some unknown intention that I'm going to guess isn't entirely peaceful. Alison is definitely not rejoining the movement at this point.

"[Episodes] 9 and 10 for Alison is the climax for her because she does get some answers, and 9 and 10 is about what she does with that information," Jones teased.

But don't expect all the answered to be laid out for you so easily in the finale. "As far as the audience is concerned, I think the writers did a really great job of keeping it to the audience's opinion. Even in the end, it's still going to be up to the viewers to decide where Alison's head is at and how she'll move forward," Jones said.

"What I can say about my own thoughts about Alison is that one thing that she's never wavered on is her faith in her husband. That is my personal feeling towards how Eddie and her have this connection. Despite their wavering faith in a movement they've been a part of, they have an undying faith in their spouse and in their partner. They also share the commonality that they will do anything to protect and preserve that faith. For me, that was Alison's bottom line, so how people want to interpret her actions, I think, is really up to the viewers."

More: The Path: I don't care what producers say, this show is about Scientology

Natalie Dormer doesn't think Game of Thrones is revolutionary for women

Natalie Dormer chatted with SheKnows about Game of Thrones' broader impact for women in film and television — and her response was unexpected, to say the least, mostly because she was able to put it into words better than we ever could have.

More: 22 things about GoT's Natalie Dormer you probably didn't know (VIDEO)

"Revolution is a very strong word," Dormer said immediately when we asked how the show had revolutionized roles for women.

She continued, "I think it's part of the evolution, the natural evolution that is happening in entertainment, that finally we are catching up with gender equality in our three-dimensional roles. Yes, [the show] spearheaded it, along with a couple of other shows, and I do think credit has to be given to television. And cinema is finally catching up, knowing that audiences respond to those well-written, three-dimensional characters. I'd like to see it as a natural progression in evolution that is overdue, but it is happening."

Dormer doesn't think that three-dimensional depth is limited to women in Game of Thrones, either. In fact, she couldn't pick the character she thought was written the best.

Game of Thrones' Margaery
Image: HBO

"That's a really, really tough one, to be perfectly honest. I mean, the one thing I love about the show is, obviously, the POV characters are given their full rein... But then you have characters like Margaery, who are fleshed out in a way in the show that they're just not in the books. That's a real tough one. I couldn't possibly cite best character, unless I was to say Margaery, but that would kind of be cheating."

What she did say she loved about the show is its ability to start out with characters the audience hates and slowly transition those to characters we love over the course of a few seasons, like Jaime Lannister and The Hound.

Speaking during an interview with E! News on the pink carpet at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, Jonas gushed about how beautiful Graham is.

"We're doing cool stuff in bed. We had the beautiful Ashley Graham in the video. We just got to make out and roll around on each other all day," he explained. "It was a man's dream come true."

And if you thought filming the scenes were awkward for Graham and Jonas, you'd be so wrong.

"She was cracking jokes right away and kind of broke the ice," Jonas revealed. "Those things are always kind of uncomfortable. You've got a full camera crew with you as you're lying in bed and trying to be intimate with someone so it's obviously awkward right away. But she was really fun with it and we kept each other laughing."

You can clearly see in the video that the duo are very, very comfortable with each other. So comfortable, in fact, that according to Jonas, they kept making out after the cameras stopped rolling.

"The make-out scenes were really hot and long and I think they said cut a few times and we both were in our zone and we were like, 'whatever,'" he confessed. Um, what?

More: Joe Jonas should never have commented on Gigi Hadid's new romance

Fans are really loving the video too and are pleased that Jonas and the band opted to use Graham as the model. With more than 6,500 comments on the video and as many as 4,181,894 views, this song is already on the fast track to becoming a hit.

"When I heard this song from their album sway it immediately became my favorite. The video did it justice. Thought cake by the ocean was big? This is going to BLOW UP !!!" ItsAryan commented.

But some people just came to see Graham.

"Ashley Graham!!!! Literally came here just for her but the song was good too," Kanthalina Andreus commented. And Vanityyy shared similar thoughts, writing, "Glad it's not a tall skinny blonde girl, gets boring after a while."

10 years later, I realize I shouldn't have let my daughter watch The Hills

Just what I needed — a reminder of a misguided parenting decision.

With the 10th anniversary of MTV’s The Hills upon us, I wince when I think that I let my then-9-year-old daughter Meg watch the show.

As it had become a "thing" among her pre-teen peers, we watched it together, along with Gilmore Girls, for mother-daughter TV bonding.

Both programs required some explaining of certain situations, but because The Hills was supposed to be real, I couldn’t rely on "the writers just made that up for the show." Little did I know that that line actually did apply, since we’ve all come to find out that most everything — from fights to romances — on The Hills was scripted.

More: Kristin Cavallari: The Hills was so fake.

My initial reaction was that it was all pretty harmless: the girls were pretty, Lauren Conrad was the epitome of "nice," and fashions — as on Sex and the City — played a major role, especially since LC and Whitney worked at Teen Vogue. Also, as native New Yorkers, Meg and I got to see the cool as well as beautiful parts of Los Angeles.

What Meg was really viewing, though, was a lot of mean girl stuff, bad choices made with guys and unfortunate job decisions.

Let's talk about LC

LC Paris The Hills GIF
Image: E Online

One of my first words of wisdom to her were, "Never give up Paris for a boy, or anything" after LC blew off the business travel opportunity for a summer share at the beach with (groan) Jason, which resulted in them breaking up. There was a brief sigh of relief when she got together with Brody Jenner, but that only led to questions about why, if he liked Lauren, was he always checking out other girls?

Watching Audrina always making herself available for now-you-see-him-now-you-don’t Justin Bobby had me making a mental note to eventually buy Meg a copy of All the Rules, and the whole Speidi thing prompted conversations about the difference between someone really caring about you verses wanting to control you.

Ugh, the fights

The Hills GIF
Image: Giphy

And then there were the girl fights. They didn’t just argue: they screamed at one another, in private as well as in public. Lauren and Heidi’s breakup blow-up was heartbreaking since, like Meg, I think many young girls had romanticized that as the kind of friendship they wanted. A good example of bullying occurred when Stephanie Pratt and pal Roxie confronted LC in a nightclub. Heidi & Co. did the same to Stacie the bartender. Then Kristin Cavallari showed up and started calling out people just to make her presence known.

"Let's be like Whitney" was a constant suggestion. Although she was portrayed as a bit low-key, she managed to stay out of the fray — and got to go to Paris.

Some might wonder, if I saw the direction in which the show was going, why I didn't stop Meg from watching. To put it simply, I knew that she was hooked and could easily see it at a friend's house, or view it on the internet when I wasn't around. I figured since the train had already left the station, so to speak, the best thing was to watch with her and at least turn The Hills into teachable moments to get over the mountains of crap that come with adolescence.

What did Kate Moss do to piss off Joanna Lumley on the Ab Fab set?

Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders push Kate Moss into the Thames in the upcoming Ab Fab movie — purely for entertainment value, of course. But there are rumours of bad feeling off set as well…

More: Billboard Music Award Winners' speeches were two things: short and sweet

Lumley is a passionate advocate for animal rights and a prolific anti-fur campaigner. Moss is a supermodel who wears whatever the hell she likes. The result? According to the Daily Mail, Lumley was none too happy when Moss slipped on a leopard-print rabbit-skin coat between takes, breaching Lumley's "strict no-fur policy" on set.

When Lumley, 70, was asked if she called out 42-year-old Moss on her choice of outerwear she said, "I wasn’t on set when Kate wore fur, and she brought her own clothes because Kate doesn't take dressing orders."

No less than 60 famous names are featured including Stella McCartney, Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie, Rebel Wilson, Graham Norton, Jerry Hall, Dame Joan Collins and Perez Hilton.

Julia Sawalha as Eddy's daughter Saffy is back, now in her 40s and with a teenage daughter of her own, as is Jane Horrocks as the inimitable Bubble.

Thankfully Eddy and Patsy haven't turned into clean-eating, meditating yoga bunnies. Little has changed since we last saw them four years ago. They're still chain-smoking, champagne-swilling, party-crashing fashionistas, causing chaos wherever they go. "Killing Kate Moss" is only the beginning.

There may be hope for Sister Wives' Janelle and Meri Brown after all

On last night's (May 22) episode of Sister Wives, the Brown family took a much-needed break from all the catfishing drama and instead focused on Thanksgiving. Fresh off their first therapy appointment in last week's episode, Meri and Janelle join forces to create the tablescapes for the 70+ Thanksgiving dinner attendees.

More: Sister Wives: Did Meri give the other wives an STD?

Janelle is working really hard to figure out how to fit into Meri's plans, and I admire her gracious attitude. After the past couple of weeks, all the history between the first and second wives of Kody makes me think there is no way I would be as nice as Janelle. Most people would have run away years ago. But Janelle is determined to forge a genuine friendship with her sister wife, Meri. Even though Janelle does not like crafting, she spray paints and hot glues and even tells the camera that she knew the old Meri would have criticized her work. But instead of holding that against Meri, Janelle is appreciative of Meri's ability to restrain herself.

More: Sister Wives may welcome a new family member - on the show

I've always admired Janelle. While the other wives tend to get caught up in whatever drama Kody has going on, Janelle is level-headed. She takes a lot of flak for not being a dreamer, but without Janelle's rational thinking, I cannot imagine where the Brown family would be. It should be no surprise that Janelle is willing to put in the work with Meri when so many other people would have given up. Janelle is not afraid of a challenge, and combined with her generous heart, a friendship with Meri is definitely possible, in spite of the bad blood between them.

More: Sister Wives' Kody Brown accused of playing favorites

As the Brown family sits on their couch and discusses having the entire family home for Thanksgiving, Janelle takes the time to express how thankful she is that Meri is with them during this holiday season as well, particularly after the conversation the adults all had in Alaska. Even though Meri and Janelle still aren't super close, Janelle realizes just how important it is to let Meri know she is loved.

Janelle may not always feel like she belongs, and because of this, she takes the time to remind the other members of the family how much they are wanted. If I had to have a sister wife, I would definitely want her to be like Janelle.

Do you think Janelle and Meri can continue to mend their relationship?

Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne have something awful in common

There's definitely one person who doesn't want to be a part of Taylor Swift's gal squad, and unfortunately, he's been harassing the singer and her famous friends.

More: Demi Lovato doesn't regret slamming Taylor Swift — not one bit

According to TMZ, Swift, Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne have all become targets of an internet troll who is really out to get them — and has gone so far as to send them death threats.

The unnamed man reportedly told Swift, "I will kill some of you." And sent a very creepy tweet to Hadid, writing, "people gon die they're gon die die die die!"

Delevingne was targeted with a message that read, "I will kill your friends and I am excited about it." Wow.

More: Really? People are calling Gigi Hadid "brave" for eating a hamburger on TV

But it's not just Swift and her friends that have fallen victim to these cyber threats, as TMZ reveals Chrissy Teigen has also received a message that stated, "gonna give it one shot, but I probably gonna end up murdering your friends."

Director Kyle Newman, whose wife, Jaime King, has reportedly also been receiving messages from this individual, alerted the authorities. Law enforcement are now on the hunt for the culprit and have obtained a warrant to search through Twitter's records in the hopes of discovering his identity.

Once again, we are reminded of the dark side to fame. Let's hope that law enforcement locates this individual soon.

Kim Zolciak is getting attacked for decisions Brielle’s making as an adult

Poor Kim Zolciak not only has to handle being attacked for her own looks, but apparently her 19-year-old daughter Brielle Biermann's looks, too.

More: Kim Zolciak celebrated her bday with a bikini pic and a pretty deep message

Zolciak posted a family photo from a recent vacation to her Instagram, showing her, her husband and Biermann smiling at the camera. In the shot, Biermann stands behind her parents with her arms draped around their shoulders.

But almost as soon as the photo went up, Zolciak started getting flak from followers who were pointing out that Biermann's face looked different. The followers thought, despite Zolciak insisting it wasn't true, that Biermann had had plastic surgery.

More: Kim Zolciak-Biermann gets real about how her stroke altered her perspective

According to Zolciak, Biermann looks different from usual in the snap because of a strange angle, and because she's not wearing any eye makeup. She also claims that the only cosmetic work Biermann has had done is some lip injections that the pair got together on a mother-daughter vacation last year.

Still, though, the internet isn't buying it, and for some reason, Zolciak is taking all the hate for her adult daughter's alleged plastic surgery. Biermann is 19 years old, so why does the internet consider it Zolciak's job to police her looks? Kylie Jenner, 18, has gone under the knife, but you don't see fans and followers blaming her mom, Kris Jenner, for Kylie's decisions to alter her appearance.

Whether Biermann has actually had plastic surgery or not, Zolciak's followers need to stop blaming her for decisions made by her grown-up daughter. While her own plastic surgery may be influencing Biermann now, whether the teen decides to go under the knife is only her decision at this point, not Zolciak's.

If a ring means anything, Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t want his marriage to end

Will Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne get back together? If their finger bling these days is any indication, they may not be on the same page about that.

More: Ozzy Osbourne reportedly did more than cheat on Sharon — he also disappeared

On Wednesday last week, both Sharon and Ozzy were spotted out and about — separately, of course — and while Ozzy is still sporting his wedding band, Sharon has taken hers off.

Sharon was out shopping in Beverly Hills, while Ozzy was photographed boarding a private jet in LA. Sharon was spotted without her ring on just a day after she told her co-hosts on The Talk that she's doing well, despite deciding to end her marriage.

"I think I'm the strongest I've ever been right now and [with] everything that's going on with my life," she said during Tuesday's episode of the show. "I feel it."

More: Sharon Osbourne went all Nancy Drew on Ozzy before their split

After 33 years together, Sharon reportedly made the call to instigate a split from Ozzy after she discovered he had had an affair with a hairstylist. According to Us Weekly, Sharon even got the stylist fired from the salon where she worked, and then Ozzy supported her financially.

"She was upset that he was supporting this woman!" the source said. "She and [daughter] Kelly both called the salon repeatedly for about two weeks before the news broke, trying to get in touch with Michelle. They were really angry. Sharon is the reason Michelle was let go."

Other sources close to the family have given up details about Ozzy's alleged affair, saying he even disappeared for days at a time.

"Sharon thought he had gone on a walk and had some kind of medical emergency," an insider said about one time when Ozzy disappeared.

Apparently, Fred Savage brings out Kelly Ripa's naughty side

Well, this should bump up ratings.

More: Michael Strahan is kind of rubbing his new job in Kelly Ripa's face

Fred Savage joined Kelly Ripa as her temporary Live! with Kelly co-host Monday, and things got a little... intimate.

During the show, he revealed that although he came to New York alone this time, the last time he was at the hotel where he's staying, he definitely wasn't.

"The last time I was at this hotel, we made our first baby at this hotel," he revealed. "So I call my wife, I’m like, 'So you’ll never guess where I am.'"

Hilariously, Savage went on the spill some juicy details about that fateful night, revealing that he and his wife were trying to get pregnant and tracking her ovulation. They discovered the time was right, just after they went out on the town and ate a huge dinner.

"Our stomachs were so distended, I don’t even know how [it happened]," Savage said as Ripa cracked up next to him. "I don’t know how we got from here to there, but our son’s 9, and he’s great."

More: Kelly Ripa can't fool us with a thinly veiled slam against Michael Strahan

The odds of a similar situation happening for Ripa are pretty low, though, she revealed after Savage finished his story.

"Mark [Consuelos] knows we won’t be having any post-meal activity if I have anything greater than a salad," she said, after checking the audience to make sure no children were present. "He knows if I just say I’ll have a light salad, he gets excited. 'This is a sure thing tonight!'"

And Savage has his own similar experience.

"I feel that way sometimes when my wife shaves her legs," he admitted. "And she’s like, 'That’s not for you, I’m wearing a dress tomorrow!'"

Check out the rest of the hilarious exchange in the video below:

Juan Pablo Galavis is sneaking his way back onto your screens

Thought you were done with Juan Pablo Galavis? Just in time for The Bachelorette, Galavis is back to remind us how much we can't wait to watch 25 new people/crazies sign themselves up for this franchise.

Galavis has apparently moved on to a whole new career — he's an actor now. When you consider just how much he loved the camera, this new venture isn't exactly surprising.

More: Juan Pablo Galavis may make another appearance on The Bachelor franchise

As Us Weekly reports, he appears in what seems to be a weekly web series called Breakup Breakdown from Más Mejor, "Broadway Video’s premium comedy studio powered by Latino voices." The studio is owned by Lorne Michaels, so Galavis must be doing something right. Unfortunately, that something is not his new hair, a shoulder-length, middle-parted, blow-dried number that makes him look 10 years older than his 35 years. Where are those ABC stylists when you need them?

More: The Bachelor's former — and most hated — Bachelor has his eyes on JoJo

If his turns on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor have given him a taste for the spotlight, we'll be seeing much more of Galavis soon. Perhaps he'll launch his own reality show like Trista Sutter or his own wine like Brandy Glanville. Reality stars with something to say or to sell are typically stuck here forever. Juan Pablo, welcome to Hollywood.

GH is playing hardball with Roger Howarth & my heart can't take it

What is General Hospital doing to the fans? The latest rumor that the soap is playing hardball with another actor has me in heart palpitations.

More: Now that Nashville's over, will Jonathan Jackson return to General Hospital?

A recent issue of Soap Opera Digest included a blind item about an actor who was struggling with his current contract negotiations with ABC. The rumor was apparently solved by the Facebook group Soap Fans United, which confirmed Howarth's identity on social media.

Soap Opera Fans United blind item

Soap Opera Fans United blind item

Roger Howarth is beloved by daytime viewers because of his longevity in the TV genre. He started his career with a short-lived role on Loving, but he made his mark as Todd Manning on One Life to Live, winning a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994.

After the cancellation of the show and many years of soap-hopping, Howarth landed on GH in May 2013 as Franco, a role originated by James Franco. Now that he’s comfortable at his home in Port Charles, why is the network stalling again?

More: James Franco admits he's gay until he has sex

ABC has already put us through the tug-of-war in signing Rebecca Herbst to a new contract earlier this year. That public relations disaster even got Nathan Varni caught up in the gossip of the negotiations.

I know I am not the only one who is frustrated with the constant difficulties behind the scenes, especially since Howarth’s character is integral to current storylines. Many other fans are also weighing in on Twitter.

While the outcome will most likely result in a new contract for Howarth, what is happening behind the scenes that makes this process so difficult? Are there budget cuts on GH we aren’t aware of? Are the producers offering up contracts that are less-than-ideal for actors like Howarth and Herbst?

Whatever the answer is, ABC needs to figure it out because my soap-fan heart can’t take it anymore.

Was Fred Savage auditioning to be Kelly Ripa's Live! co-host?

Fred Savage sat in Michael Strahan's still warm Live! seat on Monday morning and, surprise! He absolutely killed it as a co-host. He clearly tried to impress Ripa and producers by being game for the show. He had knowledge of The Bachelorette and he chatted about his sex life.

"I've never leaned so far forward in my life," he said before climbing right up onto Ripa's chair to get as close as possible to guest JoJo Fletcher. Ripa had a surprised look on her face for a moment, but she quickly went with the flow.

More: Kelly Ripa tried to address the drama — but I really think she avoided the whole thing

Live! fans are already on board. While introducing Savage, Ripa was clear just how much fans loved him. "Back by the most, and I mean the very most, popular demand is Fred Savage," she said. "Last time you were here, I heard from friends of mine I don't normally hear from who told me how funny you were."

Today's show got the same glowing reviews from fans.

The official announcement is expected to come in the next few weeks, with co-hosts including Common, Anderson Cooper and Ripa's husband Mark Consuelos scheduled through the week of May 30.

More: Kelly Ripa & Fred Savage get very detailed about their sex lives on Live!

Aside from his work as, duh, Kevin Arnold on The Wonder Years, Savage grew into a successful and highly sought-after sitcom director. He's directed episodes for Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls and Happy Endings, and produced episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Party Down. He already has a great career in entertainment on his hands — why not jump into something new? If there's something we know about the Live! producers, they don't necessarily want to go with the most obvious host. Would anyone have seen Michael Strahan, longtime NFL star, as a daytime talk-show host? Sometime did. Savage may get the same shot.

For Fletcher's part, she did a bang-up job of sticking to her The Bachelorette contract and not saying a word about whether or not she left the show engaged. We didn't get any real dirt, but Savage sure did try.

Watch a clip from Fletcher's interview below.
